Welcome to Vintage Kirriemuir - showing old postcards of Kirriemuir, Angus. All the postcards come from my personal collection and can also be viewed on my Flickr photostream.
Kirriemuir is in Angus, Scotland and has a population of approx 6,000. It is famed as the birthplace of James Matthew Barrie who wrote Peter Pan and many more novels & plays. He was born on Brechin Road and also lived on Glamis Road in the Southmuir. He donated the Barrie Cricket Pavilion on The Hill, Northmuir which also has a Camera Obscura and he is buried in the nearby Kirriemuir Cemetery.
There are many pages which group the postcards together - you can access them via the Kirriemuir Postcards menu above.
The year, if shown, in descriptions state when the card was posted.
